He feels like the protagonist of his own story His armor costume and swishing scarf give him a genuinely heroic feeling. Papyrus has a great design and cartoony sensibility- his skeleton nature isnt taken especially literally, the same as his brother sans. Big, braggy, devoted to his work, and adoring puzzles, papyrus seems like a Big Goofy Bad Guy Mook from the top. Believing capturing a human will get him a job with the prestigious Royal Guard. More imposing then his brother, at first, Papyrus is a grandstanding, self important skeleton in a incredibly cool set of red-accented armor. He’s just a cheerful skeliton fellah, who mostly seems to care about his brother, and makes a good friend. He’s as comfortable as a beat up old recliner. It’s hard to say exactly what he’s wearing- pants? Shorts? A hoodie? A soft lined coat? No shoes? …Flip flops? But you get the feeling he gave up in the middle. Walking down a long icy path in what appears to shockingly be a *forest* or some kind, a flickering shadow trails you… only to turn and shake your hand with a corny joke. The very first person we meet out of the heartbreaking exodus through the door of the RUINS, sans’ intro is a delightfully tense moment.
